On a sidebar, an important one, I actually think that the whole story was about lack of communication. No one seemed to be making much of an effort to communicate with each other, especially the friends turned business partners. Or rather, it seemed like it was a one way conversation between New York City and California and the connection was fuzzy on the New York side. (For ex. Time and time again the CFO was told that everything was going down in California and he heard it loud and clear. So...why was he everywhere but California? He had a vested interest in being there.)

If its possible to make such a horrible mess talking/not talking to each other in person (which the vast majority of us do regardless)...what does that say about human to human communication?
